New clients continue care with this provider

Hello, I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience, specializing in working with geriatric clients. My primary focus is on supporting older adults through various transitional periods and challenges, including managing medical or mental health diagnoses. In addition to my work with geriatrics, I also provide short-term therapy for individuals across different age groups. This typically involves assessment, treatment planning, and discharge, or referrals to long-term treatment if needed. My approach is similar to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), aimed at addressing immediate concerns and facilitating smooth transitions to ongoing care when necessary. I offer both virtual sessions and in-home treatment options to accommodate your needs. Please feel free to contact me to discuss how I can support you or your loved ones.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and building a strong rapport. This is a collaborative process where we’ll explore your goals and needs to determine if I’m the right fit to support you on your journey. I will be transparent and open throughout our discussion, providing clear answers to your questions and encouraging you to share your thoughts and concerns. This session is an opportunity for us to establish a comfortable and trusting relationship as we begin working together. Looking forward to meeting you!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider include my ability to effectively assess situations and develop tailored treatment plans. I excel in crisis intervention, swiftly determining the appropriate level of care needed to support individuals through challenging moments. I am particularly passionate about assisting people through life transitions, providing a supportive and empathetic approach, especially with geriatric patients. My experience extends to consulting with families on managing children with ADHD, ODD, and other developmental disorders, including navigating school plans and resources. These strengths enable me to offer comprehensive and compassionate care, ensuring that each client receives the support they need at every stage of their journey.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

In my practice, I employ a person-centered approach, which means I tailor interventions and treatment methods to align with what resonates best with each client. This approach ensures that the therapy is personalized and relevant to their unique needs and preferences. I draw on a range of treatment methods to best support my clients. I have received extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) through the Beck Institute, which equips me with a solid foundation in helping clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. Additionally, I incorporate skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), focusing on teaching clients practical skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. A core element of my practice is a strength-based approach. I believe in recognizing and building upon the inherent strengths and resources that clients have, even if they may not always see them. By highlighting these strengths and the support available within their communities, I aim to empower clients and foster resilience throughout their therapeutic journey. This combination of person-centered care, diverse therapeutic techniques, and a strength-based perspective helps me effectively address the varied needs of my clients and support their growth and well-being.
