Hello, I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Florida. I received my Master's in Clinical Mental Health from Jacksonville University. I am trained in EMDR and am working towards becoming EMDR certified. I work with adults who are struggling with anxiety, ptsd, and effects of trauma, who want to feel more hopeful about the future, settled and secure in themselves.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we'll discuss the symptoms you are experiencing, the effects on your life, and other stressors. I will get to know you as a whole person - strengths, values, and goals for healing—and there is no need to delve into anything too painful if you are not ready. Honor what you need and your pace.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am warm and empathic and focus on building a respectful atmosphere and a collaborative environment where clients feel comfortable opening up. I utilize evidence-based treatments to change how clients think and feel.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Clients who have experienced major life-threatening events such as sexual abuse, serious car accidents, or natural disasters. I also work with clients who have experienced traumas in other forms, such as emotionally painful relationship break-ups, who have been criticized or rejected, or who experience ongoing stress. These experiences can manifest as anxiety or depression and deeply affect a person's sense of self-worth and well-being, especially when they build up over time or happen at vulnerable times in a person's life.

My treatment methods

EMDR

In our work together, I use EMDR and integrate it with talk therapy and mindfulness skills, to help clients work through distressing memories or traumatic events, or move through issues related to low self-esteem, social anxiety, grief and loss, body image concerns, relationship break-ups, life-transitions and stress.

Humanistic

In my practice, I use a humanistic approach by creating a non-judgmental space to support clients healing from trauma and anxiety by providing an empathic space where they feel empowered to explore their strengths and experiences at their own pace. I believe each person has a unique capacity to heal and I focus on building a trusted relationship that honors each person's autonomy. By offering empathy and support, I help client's reconnect with their inner resources, sense of self, rebuild trust in themselves and others and move towards growth and self-compassion after experiencing difficult life events.
