I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Jacksonville University. My approach is compassionate, practical, and collaborative. I’m certified in EMDR and specialize in working with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, and PTSD. In our work together, I help you rebuild self-confidence and develop tools to manage stressful situations, overwhelming emotions, and difficult thoughts. My goal is to help feel more grounded, capable, and secure in yourself.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The first session is structured in a way that helps you feel safe and supported. It's exploratory, not too deep, and focused on getting to know each other. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, the main issues and symptoms you’re experiencing, how they’re impacting your life, and any other stressors that may be present. We'll also explore your current situation, personal strengths, values, and what you’d like to get out of counseling. I’ll walk you through different treatment options—like EMDR or talk therapy approaches—that may best match your needs, preferences, and where you are in your healing process. This session is just as much about you getting a feel for working with me as it is about gathering information, so you can decide if it feels like the right fit.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I am warm and empathic and focus on building a respectful atmosphere and a collaborative environment where clients feel comfortable opening up. I develop a personalized treatment plan for you that feels supportive and manageable and tailored to your goals, personality and where you are in your healing journey. I can assess if EMDR is a good fit for your needs.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work with clients experiencing anxiety and depression who are motivated to better understand the root causes of their struggles and apply tools from therapy to start feeling more balanced and in control. Many of the people I work with have a history of overwhelming or distressing life events—such as accidents, medical issues, divorce, conflict, bullying, toxic workplaces, breakups, or ongoing stress at work or school. These experiences can leave lasting emotional effects, and my goal is to help you reconnect with your strengths, trust your judgement, find relief, build resilience, and feel more grounded in your daily life.
EMDR
In our work together, I use EMDR and integrate it with talk therapy and mindfulness skills, to help clients work through distressing memories or traumatic events, or move through issues related to low self-esteem, social anxiety, grief and loss, body image concerns, relationship break-ups, life-transitions and stress.
Humanistic
In my practice, I use a humanistic approach by creating a non-judgmental space to support clients healing from trauma and anxiety by providing an empathic space where they feel empowered to explore their strengths and experiences at their own pace. I believe each person has a unique capacity to heal and I focus on building a trusted relationship that honors each person's autonomy. By offering empathy and support, I help client's reconnect with their inner resources, sense of self, rebuild trust in themselves and others and move towards growth and self-compassion after experiencing difficult life events.
