Hola! Hello! I'm a Licensed Independent Social Worker, LCSW. I received my Masters from the Columbia University School of Social Work in NYC, in 2003. I love working with children, adults, and the elderly achieve their goals in therapy. I have worked in schools, hospitals, community based clinics and organizations, mental health clinics, and medical offices. I help and empower children, teens, adults, and families in a myriad of areas to achieve certain goals in their lives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will get to know each other some and then discuss the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me to understand you a bit further and be able to provide the best treatment plan ideas and course for therapy sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a provider is that I am an empath in nature and and can understand the challenges my clients are facing. I work from a trauma informed care framework, and easily tune in to underlying factors that are hindering my clients current level of functioning.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This is the form of therapy I use mostly in my practice since it allows for the dialogue of what my clients are expressing with a gentle challenge when necessary from me in order to have a breakthrough.

Play Therapy

This is my preferred form of therapy with children and adolescents in order to see their present functioning and to open up the rapport process and lines of communication.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

As a woman of color, I am able to utilize my own experiences in being able to further understand a client's background and belief system as it relates to their race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, or other important areas in their lives.

Grief Therapy

Grief isn't linear and everyone experiences it differently. I meet my clients where they are in their grief process to help them navigate a loss whether it be a death of a loved one, loss of a job, loss of a relationship, etc.

Trauma Informed Care

As a clinician, it is of utmost importance to acknowledge that trauma happens to all of us in different stages and areas of our lives. Trauma can hinder us from many things and as someone that operates from a TIC model, I seek to validate and explore trauma and help begin the healing journey alongside my client.
