Hi there! My name is Zahrah and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Virginia. We often face many ups and downs throughout our lives, and I am passionate about helping others navigate these challenges. Creating harmony between our personal life, work, or school can help us feel hopeful, and secure in who we are. Using a person centered, holistic, and culturally sensitive approach, my goal is to help others discover healthy ways to manage their stress, anxiety, or depression. The first step to building ourselves up is admitting when we cannot manage the challenges and demands of life on our own. This is why creating a safe, and non-judgmental space is key in a therapeutic relationship.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will begin with introductions then move onto current challenges you are facing. I will also share details about the modalities I utilize in sessions.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

My approach to therapy is dependent upon your needs. I utilize a strengths based, solution focused method in sessions. Sessions often include a combination of various therapeutic modalities including Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Talk Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and/or Relational Therapy. These methods will help you process your thoughts, feelings, and perceptions of situations, while simultaneously teaching you ways to cope and manage your stress, anxiety, and/or depression.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have over 13 years experience in the helping field. Throughout my career, I have worked with people of varying backgrounds, and I believe in empowering others regardless of their upbringing. As a second generation, South Asian American, and POC, I recognize navigating life is simply a different and unique experience for us. I am here to help you accept yourself as you are, and to find ways to cope with past and current challenges.
