We all need someone who can hold space for us. Hold space to process the past. Hold space to process how the past is showing up in the present. And hold space to process a different future. Regardless of what season of hurt or difficult circumstances you’re in, I believe hurt and hope can coexist. Let’s process through the pain and get to the other side where there’s hope and new ways of living. Some of the niche areas I specialize in: -Emotional/psychological abuse -Destructive relational patterns -Attachment difficulties -Parenting towards a secure attachment

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I love the consultation process so clients can find a therapist they have a strong rapport with—this is so important! Once the prospective client makes that decision, I will send an email from Alma to gather consent, insurance info, and a basic intake form. The first session is a bit of information gathering, but I also like to jump right in and get additional information as it is relevant to the therapeutic goals. I am straightforward but relaxed and relatable. It’s important for us to explore what’s bringing you to therapy so you can gauge progression toward therapeutic goals. If you’re a reader, I love to provide relevant books as well as suggestions for between sessions. I love working with individuals in their late teens up to their later years of life.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Identifying maladaptive patterns, tolerating associated distress, and choosing new patterns of relating to ourselves and those around us.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

Attachment-focused therapy centers on understanding and healing the emotional bonds formed in early relationships, which deeply influence how we connect with others throughout life. This therapeutic approach helps clients explore and resolve past relational wounds, fostering secure attachments and healthier interpersonal dynamics. Through this process, clients gain greater emotional awareness and the ability to form more fulfilling and supportive connections.

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is a structured approach that helps individuals process and heal from traumatic memories and distressing life experiences. By using bilateral stimulation, EMDR facilitates the brain's natural healing process, reducing the emotional intensity of traumatic memories. This therapy allows clients to reframe and integrate these experiences, leading to lasting emotional relief and improved well-being.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy is a transformative approach that helps individuals explore and harmonize the different "parts" or aspects of themselves, each with its own emotions, thoughts, and roles. By fostering a compassionate relationship with these parts, IFS empowers clients to heal inner conflicts, release burdens from past experiences, and achieve a more balanced and integrated sense of self.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma-informed care is an approach that recognizes and responds to the pervasive impact of trauma on an individual's well-being. It involves creating a safe, supportive environment that prioritizes empowerment, choice, and collaboration, ensuring that care is sensitive to the unique needs of those with trauma histories. This approach fosters healing by avoiding re-traumatization and promoting resilience and recovery.
