I have over a decade of experience working with individuals and families. I take a client centered approach, and I provide a therapeutic, safe and supportive environment. I believe in the importance in showing compassion for my clients as I evoke healing and growth. I have made a significant impact on the lives of my clients as I believe in the power of therapy, removing the stigma of asking for help and refusing to suffer in silence.
During the first session, I engage in assessing the client so that I can gather the information needed to assist in the healing journey.
I come from a family of teachers. I saw my family give into the community and help shape the lives of children and adolescents. As I watched my family focus on the youth, I recognized the limitations, and I knew that I wanted to take a different approach in my career. A career path in which I could impact individuals, families and communities. As I saw the misfortune in my own community, I quickly realized that social work was the field for me. With my family and community experiences, education and the client population that I have worked with, I truly believe that I was placed on this earth to be a therapist. With that passion and motivation, I followed the path, and I became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I believe my upbringing and family roots give me the compassion, non-judgmental, calm, supportive personality that makes people feel comfortable and safe to open up to me. And with that vulnerability, I can evoke healing, change and growth.
I love working with clients who are seeking some direction in becoming their true selves. My clients have often experienced traumatic experiences and difficult situations. I provide a safe space where my clients can share they're about their past and find the strength to face their fears and seek a better future.
I have been working with individuals to understand why a person behaves the way they do because that insight can help improve their self-view and develop healing strategies.
I have been working with couples navigate through difficult times, improve their connection and communication and friendship.
I think it's important to utilize a client's faith when addressing their difficulty and focusing on their faith and biblical principals.
I focus on the importance of the connection between cognitive thoughts, behaviors, and actions. I provide psychoeducation, utilize an agenda, provide homework assignments, and reflection on what clients learn and use after sessions.
