I am a Licensed, Clinical Social Worker, from New Jersey who is certified in EMDR. I am a warm, caring and compassionate therapist with over 20 plus years of experience helping individuals and groups navigate challenges in outpatient therapy settings along with virtual therapy. Over the years, I have supported clients from diverse backgrounds struggling with anxiety, depression, addictions, stress, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, trauma and feelings of dissatisfaction with life. My approach is client-centered and tailored to each person's unique needs. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where meaningful growth and healing is possible.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I will initiate the first session by reviewing the client's history of treatment, family constellation, medical history and ask key questions to learn about the client's current symptoms, concerns, stressors, struggles, issues, goals and expectations of therapy in order to develop an individualized treatment plan with the client.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I specialize in treating individuals who present with issues related to depression, anxiety, stress and trauma . I've had the opportunity to hone my therapeutic skills and knowledge base of mental health issues from my long term employment in a teaching hospital by working with individuals and groups with severe persistent mental illness, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, addictions, and personality disorders. I have had the opportunity of working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team comprised of psychiatric residents, attending psychiatrists, nurses, clinical managers, LSCWs and LPCs.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am passionate about supporting clients who are motivated to grow and heal in psychotherapy. I value the collaborative process of helping clients explore their challenges, uncover their strengths and achieve meaningful change.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT to help my clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to their emotional distress. Through techniques such as cognitive restructuring I guide my clients to developing healthier ways of thinking and coping. I encourage clients to identify goals, practice skills learned between sessions to reinforce skills and promote long term change.

Eclectic

In eclectic therapy, I utilize therapeutic approaches and techniques from various therapeutic modalities to best meet the unique needs of each client. I draw on strategies from modalities such as (CBT)Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, (EMDR) Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, Mindfulness Based Therapy, (DBT) Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy and Grief Therapy, Trauma Focused Therapy based on their individual issues and goals to develop individualized treatment plans.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy concepts to help clients regulate emotions, improve interpersonal relationships, distress tolerance, and develop effective skills which help clients manage intense emotions and reduce harmful behaviors.

EMDR

I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy to help clients process traumatic memories with goal to decrease their emotional impact. Through guided bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or tapping, I guide the client review distressing memories in a controlled way, allowing the brain to reprocess them and integrate them more adaptively. This approach is effective for trauma and PTSD, promoting healing without requiring the client to extensively discuss the details of their trauma.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

In Mindfulness-Based Therapy, I help clients develop awareness of their thoughts, feelings and physical sensations in the present moment without judgment. Techniques such as guided meditation, body scans and mindful breathing help reduce stress, promote healing and improve emotional regulation.
