I enjoy working with adult individuals seeking to recapture opportunities to create emotional and relationship harmony. Working with individuals on their mental and functional health, phase of life, spiritual and relationship journey, I incorporate evidence-based and nontraditional strategies tailored to your needs and overall well-being. My practice focuses on assisting individuals in identifying their stored emotions and reshaping unhealthy internal language, perspectives, and behaviors. Utilizing various modalities and interventions, I work with clients as they uncover habitual negative thoughts, explore their origins, and construct new ways of thinking/feeling. Focusing on how individuals define their beliefs about themselves and their relationships, clients are encouraged to let go of unconstructive thinking patterns and restructure their mindset: ultimately reducing negative self-talk and anxiety, enriching communication in all facets of life. I achieve this by providing a non-judgmental safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing interventions to help you meet your goals. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

First session our opportunity to get to know one another better. Generally, first session will be time spent identifying current levels of emotional distress, exploring personal background information regarding culture, family, relationships dynamics, and exposure to adverse or trauma related experiences. Clients can expect a conversation style interaction where questions exchanged between therapist and client. The main focus of the first session is for me to ease initial discomfort, increasing rapport, understand current stressors and establish future therapeutic goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Mindfulness based Cognitive Therapy How one defines their experiences i.e., internal language, influences emotional reactivity. Restructuring internal dialog, processing hidden assumptions and self-doubt through the reconstruction of internal "words" along with Holistic techniques stimulates a distinguished sense of self awareness. Applying skills that encourage awareness of how we think and how those thoughts create emotional experiences, clients learn how to identify previously engrained negative automatic thoughts and transform them to a congruent empowered based internal experience.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness based therapeutic strategies encourage observation of ones feelings/thought, incorporating nonjudgmental awareness of the present moment experience, including one’s sensations, thoughts, bodily states, consciousness, and the environment, while encouraging openness, curiosity, and acceptance. Mindfulness based strategies assist in incorporating observational practices, identifying unhealthy internal language, recognizing maladaptive behavioral responses from projected assumptions communicated by others and exploring agreements with assumptions/projections from others. Recognition of unnecessary agreement of previously established language and beliefs assists in ease in reframing unhealthy beliefs and responses towards congruent reality based thoughts and responses.

Jungian

Jungian theory strategies aim to explore how childhood narratives resurface in current relationship themes and behaviors. Jungian Shadow work helps individuals recognize maladaptive patterns of behaviors and emotions that elicit emotional distress. Shadow work integrates past internal dialogue with present day individuation, supporting awareness of your current reality as an adult who can create a positive interactions and a system of boundaries fostering healthy relationship interactions. Thus, reducing emotional distress previously established during childhood.
