Hello, My name is Cierra, and I am an LCSW with over 10 years of experience working with individuals who have experienced anxiety, depression, mood symptoms and past traumas. Often times, you may fear being vulnerable. We are taught that if you are vulnerable, it is a sign of weakness, and you will end up hurt somehow. But what if I told you sometimes vulnerability is needed to heal! Through vulnerability, a person can take back the power that was once taken from them. It allows a safe and open space for one to express their thoughts, emotions and feelings and share past traumas or current life stressors in a nonjudgmental space that will help build resiliency and courage. I live to empower high functioning women to get through the struggles of different symptoms that may be hindering the progression of finding self-love and developing a better understanding of their selves. Seeking therapy allows you to start a journey of healing. It allows you to pick apart the things in life that you may have experienced and continues to hinder and stop you from progressing in a direction that will help you find peace. Engaging in a therapeutic relationship also allows you to learn how to love and value yourself worth to help you maintain healthy boundaries and relationships with others while on your journey to healing. My goal to help individuals overcome adversity and life situations. I help individuals work through life situations at their own pace to break down the very things that have been causing symptoms that stop advancement. I believe that through the methods of motivational interviewing and mindfulness, I will be able to help you achieve your goals and be the best person you can be for yourself. If you are looking to start your journey, you have found the right place!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

From sessions with me, you can expect to take away motivation and gain a new sense of strength that you may not have been aware was inside of you. I will help you gain a different perspective of your strengths while coming up with strategies to address behaviors you would like to change. I will provide you a safe space to be yourself and not feel judged for experiences you have that you want to leave in the past to become a better version of yourself. This is your process, and you will never feel rushed or forced to not fully process and overcome things at a different pace or level than you feel comfortable in.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I use motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as I believe a lot of the solutions to the things you may feel you are unable to tackle alone are already within your reach. Sometimes we just need a little assistance with pulling the solutions from the inside of ourselves. Through motivational interviewing, I am here to help keep you encouraged but also able to help you hold yourself accountable to be able to progress. With CBT, a lot of thought reshaping and overcoming negative views and perceptions can help with controlling the feelings and behaviors that may follow. All things in therapy with me are person centered. The change starts with you, come from within you and will continue through you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have much experiencing working with women who are single mothers and have been struggling with coping through life adversities and transitions. I have deep compassion for this population and love to help women gain the strength and confidence they need to pull through for the sake of themselves and their little ones. The job of a mother does not just intel being a mother. There are many roles that need to be fulfilled and often times women can get lost with trying to fulfill all of these roles. Let me help you find yourself to help you continue to be the best parent you can while also being the best person to yourself and not forgetting to love yourself as well.
