What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session will be different from future visits. The initial visit is a period for you and I to get to know each other and get an idea of how to proceed. Future visits will be more therapeutic in nature. For example, in your second session, we may explore a specific symptom, problem, or past trauma you mentioned in the first session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I rely on my values and strengths, two important concepts that can help lead a fulfilling life. Your values are your deepest held beliefs that reflect what’s most important in life. They form the foundation of your strengths, which are your natural talents in a well-developed form. I am a survivor, a lifelong learner, married for 20+ years, 2 children and thus recognize the challenges, disputes and trials that come with each person and their relationships.

My treatment methods

Adlerian therapy is positive, humanistic, and integrative that can be adapted for the specific needs of the individual. One of the key concepts of Adlerian theory is that human behavior is goal oriented.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a short-term form of behavioral treatment. It helps people problem-solve. CBT also reveals the relationship between beliefs, thoughts, and feelings, and the behaviors that follow.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a modified type of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Its main goals are to teach people how to live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate their emotions, and improve their relationships with others.

Existential therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses theories and practices of philosophy to address the challenges related to being human. It focuses on concepts that are universally applicable to human existence including death, freedom, responsibility, and the meaning of life. This therapy aims to increase self-awareness and help people live more fulfilling lives.

Humanistic psychology focuses on each individual's potential and stresses the importance of growth and self-actualization. The fundamental belief of humanistic psychology is that people are innately good and that mental and social problems result from deviations from this natural tendency.
