I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who graduated with a M.S.Ed in community counseling from Northern Illinois University. I have over 15 years of experience supporting adults and adolescents who suffer from Anxiety, Depression, Substance Abuse, Bipolar and self-esteem problems. I provide a compassionate space for individuals to explore what their obstacles are in finding wellbeing and providing coping strategies to enhance their lives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will primarily begin establishing a trusting, therapeutic relationship and get curious about what brings you to therapy. We will explore some past history that has contributed to your suffering and things that have also helped. We will establish goals for therapy moving forward and ways I can support you through your journey.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength is the ability to provide a non-judgmental, safe, open, compassionate space for you to be with whatever is showing up in the therapy room. I have a solid mindfulness practice in place for myself so I can be present with you and in a state of openness and curiosity. Ultimately my clients are appreciative of the insights they are able to connect to while we are working together.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with both adults and adolescents who are stuck and need a non-judgmental space to explore and get curious about what is holding them back from finding mental and emotional well-being. I find that adolescents especially are willing to explore and learn about their struggles and how to overcome them. I love when my clients are wanting to connect to a growth mindset and are open and authentic during the therapeutic process.

My treatment methods

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I incorporate mindfulness based cognitive therapy with clients. I teach them how to create an internal non-judgmental awareness of thoughts, emotions and sensations in the body. I teach them to mindfully attune to the present moment so they can skillfully respond to what is showing up with kindness and wisdom.

Attachment-based

I use attached based therapy for clients with attachment trauma as well as attachment difficulties. Attachment difficulties show up as the fear of abandonment and rejection. I help clients to create a healthy relationship with themselves and others.
