Welcome! Do you ever find yourself wondering which way is up? Are the demands of everyday life becoming draining or overwhelming? Well you are not alone in figuring it all out. My name is Patrice and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Virginia and Kentucky. I currently reside in the DMV area and have been practicing a little over 4 years now. Together, I am here to help you figure out what those overwhelming feelings mean and ways to manage them so you can get back to focusing on the things that matter most to you. Together, I am here to help you figure out what those overwhelming feelings mean and ways to manage them so you can get back to focusing on the things you enjoy most! Using a teamwork approach, we will create goals and incorporate different therapeutic techniques to work towards those goals. Some of these techniques include expressive forms of therapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, DBT skills and more. I truly believe in empowering clients to take back control of their lives as they develop healthy relationships with themselves and others by identifying and amplifying strengths you already possess. I always say that finding a therapist is like trying on shoes, and hopefully I am a good fit for you!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our initial session will focus on getting to know you and your reason for coming to therapy. The second session will be used to collect more background information on the issues you would like to focus on so that we can formulate goals and a treatment plan. Once we have reviewed your treatment plan together, we will use it as a guide for our sessions. In addition to talk therapy, sessions may include activities or homework assignments to complete outside of therapy that we will go over in following sessions. Sessions are generally 45-60 minutes and will focus on working through the objectives of your treatment plan.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I specialize in working with clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, and emotion regulation. My strengths are helping clients to be able to identify ways they can utilize tools and strengths they already possess to manage difficult feelings. I also specialize in empowering clients to not feel dependent on therapy so that are able to function successfully once treatment goals have been achieved.
