I am a dual-certified Nurse Practitioner - AANP board certified as a Family Health NP (2013) and ANCC board certified as a Psychiatric and Mental Health NP (2022). I am currently employed full time in a Mental Health Urgent Care Walk-In Clinic at a government agency and regularly assess and treat patients with serious mental illness. Prior to this I was employed as a Nurse Practitioner Liaison managing older adult and geriatric residents of long term care and assisted living facilities with both complex medical and psychiatric conditions.
Our first session will consist of introductions and a detailed history taking. I will inquire about prior psychiatric care, formal diagnoses, and medication trials with details of your response to treatment. We will discuss specific symptoms you are experiencing and what goals you seek to achieve throughout the course of treatment. I will provide you with time to ask me any questions so that you feel comfortable in moving forward with my services.
I am extremely organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about my career and in being able to help others in all ways they desire. I bring a unique blend of medical knowledge and psychological insight to my practice. My approach is holistic, focusing not only on the physical aspects of aging but also on the emotional and mental health needs that are often overlooked in this population. I offer a safe space for my clients to explore their feelings, fears, and hopes.
My ideal client is an older adult or geriatric individual who is navigating the complexities that accompany the aging process. My experience in working with this population serves as a solid foundation in achieving their goals and treating any distressful symptoms These clients often face unique challenges, including managing chronic illnesses, coping with loss, and adjusting to major life transitions. They seek comfort, understanding, and effective strategies to deal with their emotional and psychological needs during this critical phase of life. Their goals typically revolve around finding peace and enhancing their quality of life. They want to be heard, supported, and guided through their journey.
I believe that compassion and understanding are at the core in being able to meet patients where they're at, and to guide them in processing their feelings and achieving their personal goals.
