It is my commitment to provide support and understanding to my clients through compassion, non-judgmental listening, and empathy. I strive to create a safe place for clients to explore and heal from their internal wounds and anxieties. There is no one-size-fits-all in counseling and you might not know how you feel or where to go from here. That is a place where I will meet you; collaborating with you to help you through the indecisiveness at your level of comfort. Anxiety, depression, and the many symptoms they create are the hallmarks of what can block our progress.
We can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to help you find or build a roadmap that will assist you in life's struggles. During this confusing and overwhelming time, I hope to sit with you and offer that space that allows you to feel safe to share and heal.
My strengths as a counselor—compassion, genuineness, and supportiveness—are integral to my practice. These qualities help create a safe and comfortable environment where clients feel able to share their struggles and engage fully in the therapeutic process. By meeting people where they are at, I respect their individual journeys and support them in ways that are most meaningful and effective for them. Through this approach, I aim to empower my clients to overcome their challenges and achieve their personal goals, fostering growth and well-being.
I specialize in trauma therapy; however, my therapy techniques and modalities are also utilized to treat an array of issues or concerns you might be struggling with that result in your feeling stuck, unmotivated, or fearful to make changes. I'm EMDR-trained (specialized trauma treatment), which is evidence-based and has been shown to have quicker results.
The client and therapist will collaborate together to assess and explore the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors causing the client to feel reactive. There are several CBT techniques that facilitate more awareness into why certain thought patterns surface.
Eye movement desensitization reprocessing is an evidence-based practice that helps to reprocess reactive responses to various situations. It is highly effective to utilize with trauma; however, can be utilized with array of reactive responses.
