My treatment methods

Somatic

The form of somatic therapy that I utilize is treatment is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) which is a therapeutic approach that combines tapping on acupressure points with cognitive reframing to help clients release emotional blockages related to trauma, anxiety, and stress. By addressing both the emotional and physical aspects of distress, EFT promotes healing and resilience, enabling clients to manage overwhelming emotions and achieve greater emotional balance.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, evidence-based therapy that focuses on identifying and challenging negative thought patterns and behaviors. By teaching clients practical strategies to reframe their thinking and develop healthier coping mechanisms, CBT effectively addresses issues like anxiety, depression, and trauma, helping clients achieve long-term emotional well-being.

I had a deeply disappointing and upsetting experience with Laquesha. I came into therapy already feeling emotionally vulnerable and unwell, and during our session, I was asked to retake an assessment. I explained clearly that I was sick and didn’t feel I could accurately separate my physical and emotional states in that moment. Instead of respecting that boundary, she insisted I "just try." When I again said I didn’t feel comfortable doing that, she became visibly frustrated and almost immediately suggested we were not be a good fit. That moment felt incredibly dismissive and minimizing — I left the session feeling gaslit and even more emotionally distressed than when I arrived. I ended up crying afterward. I’m sharing this because therapy should be a safe space, and this experience was anything but. I hope this helps others find a provider who can meet them with empathy, patience, and respect — especially when they’re struggling.
