TRAUMA & PTSD: Have you or your child experienced something traumatic? Do you have constant negative thoughts? Do you feel stuck? Are the Sunday scaries an every day experience? I have worked with trauma for many years, and helped so many humans work through their trauma to get their life back. Let me help you! ADHD: Do you need support in creating better routines for yourself or your child? Let me help you! CAREER COACHING: Do you feel stuck in your current role? Do you feel like you have tried everything, but haven't experienced the success you want? Let me help you! Hi, I'm Samantha! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Florida. I have worked in this field for about 14 years. Most of my time has been spent working in community behavioral health with those that have severe and persistent mental health issues. I have experience working with: - All ages, starting at 3 years old - All mental health diagnoses - All substance use diagnoses You are here because you want to make a change, let me help you!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

FIRST SESSION: Our first session will be a very in depth assessment, lasting at least 60 minutes and might last as long as 120 minutes (2 hours). We will discuss a diagnosis (insurance companies require a diagnosis to authorize services), and I will provide educational resources as needed. I will ask you questions for about 30-40 minutes to get all the information I need and we will create a treatment plan with realistic goals and objectives. Often times I see clients that have had a diagnosis for years or even decades, and nobody ever took the time to have an open conversation about it. Insurance companies need to have a diagnosis listed for me to provide services, and I always have this conversation with my client's (if the client is a minor, the adults as well). SESSIONS 1-3: It typically takes some time to build rapport and for my client's to feel comfortable- totally normal! For sessions 1-3, I focus on the basics: building rapport, providing education on diagnosis, understanding the patterns of the humans I'm connecting with, reviewing history, etc.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

EMPOWERMENT! I tell everyone I work with that you already have the power within you to achieve your greatest success, I have the tools to help you access that power, and a different lens to help you envision your potential. I have always been able to connect quickly to all the humans I interact with. Sometimes I'm not the best therapist for that person, and that is ok!

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

My favorite modality is Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR). This is perfect for someone that is ready to process and explore the trauma they have experienced. Whether it's decades of trauma, or one specific incident, the only thing you have to lose will be the negativity surrounding it! This is evidenced based for all ages! Imagine your trauma as a necklace with a really fine/thin chain. Your trauma is one of the knots in this chain. You wear this necklace every day, but when you realize the knotted parts are showing, you try to move it around so nobody can see it, even yourself when looking in the mirror. The work I do during sessions, is helping you to unravel that chain. When unraveling your trauma, oftentimes you will realize it's more connected than you thought. My goal during sessions is for my client's to go from having negative feelings about an incident to neutral feelings about that same incident. We will not put a positive spin on a bad thing, we will simply remove the negative charge you have towards it. Please book a session with me so we can delve further!
