If you find yourself grappling with overwhelming emotions or thoughts, destructive patterns, or a sense of disconnect, you have come to the right place. As a specialized DBT therapist, I am passionate about guiding individuals toward inner strength and emotional resilience. Life's journey can be filled with ups and downs, and sometimes we find ourselves overwhelmed, struggling to cope with intense emotions and difficult circumstances. That's where DBT comes in. DBT is a highly effective and evidence-based therapeutic approach that emphasizes mindfulness, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance. By blending acceptance and change strategies, DBT empowers individuals to break free from the grip of emotional turmoil and build a life worth living. ***I am currently accepting new, virtual clients on Tuesday mornings (9am or 10am)***

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I'll get to know more about you, as we briefly discuss many topics/areas of your life. We will explore the current reasons which brought you to therapy, and any other concerns you might have. The first session is also a good chance for you to see if I am the kind of therapist you are looking for. Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have for me.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

In my 5 years of practice, I have thoroughly enjoyed working with adolescents/parents and adults to improve the overall quality of life, improve relationships with friends and family, build life skills and emotional regulation skills, dealing with chronic, or long-lasting, conditions (such as medical illnesses, ADHD, disabilities, etc.) and handle difficult life changes (such as the death of a loved one, growing older, having children, going to college, career changes, etc).

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

People who are struggling with their current thoughts, feelings, or life circumstances really benefit from Acceptance and Commitment therapy. In session, and with some journaling activities in-between sessions, we'll explore and identify the thoughts, feelings, or memories that bring you pain and are hard or impossible to let go of. You will learn how to accept these things, let go of and move past these things, as you shift your focus away from the pain and towards your personal values.

Daialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT works on building specific coping skills in 4 major groups: Distress Tolerance Skills (how to calm down when you are upset, or how to sooth your feelings/emotions), Mindfulness Skill (bringing more awareness to your thoughts and emotions), Emotional Regulation Skills (the routines and self care to set you up for a better day), and Interpersonal Skills (skills to talking with/solving problems with others).
