Life is full of up and downs, transitions, discoveries and lessons and it can be difficult navigating it all. Therapy can be a dedicated safe space for you to process your unique experience (the struggles, the joy and everything in between). I work with and support people ages 18+ and as a member of the LGBTQIA2S community I am committed to supporting individuals who also identify as LGBTQIA2S and allies. I’ve spent my career advancing LGBTQ+ health equity at UCLA Health by developing and managing the UCLA Gender Health Program and currently work on the inpatient psychiatry unit at UCLA. I believe in the inherent dignity and worth of every person. Everyone deserves to be their most authentic and best versions of themselves and therapy can be a space where that process begins. Utilizing an anti-oppressive collaborative trauma informed strengths based approach we will work together to identify your unique path towards relief, healing and self-actualization.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will spend time getting to know one another, your reasons for seeking therapy and discuss what brings you joy and fulfillment in your life.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I've navigated many transitions in my life and as I've advanced my career I've always looked for opportunities where I can blend my personal experiences with the care that I deliver.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Our thoughts, emotions and behaviors are connected. Increasing awareness about how we think, feel and act gives us a better understanding of how we operate in the world. In recognizing how these three things are influenced and informed by each other clients can develop a sense of agency and find relief from patterns they find themselves in.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Life is full of stressors and when we are stressed and overwhelmed we can sometimes make poor decisions. Through developing a mindful mindset, learning coping strategies and understanding multiple things can be “true” at the same time, clients become better at navigating life’s curveballs and stressors.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

EFT helps clients connect to underlying emotions and ruptures in attachment by having client attune to their emotional experience and unmet needs.

Gender-affirming therapy

I have extensive experience working with and advocating for Transgender and Gender expansive people. I know the ins and outs of how to access care and community spaces and help client process any trauma and dysphoria symptoms they experience navigating our increasingly violent transphobic world.

Grief Therapy

Grief is not a linear process and and life is full of changes that can trigger grief responses. I help clients recognize and process their unique grief responses to death, life transitions and unprocessed trauma.
