I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based therapy to help individuals navigate life’s challenges. My approach is person-centered, flexible, and rooted in Cognitive Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I believe in meeting clients where they are and tailoring treatment to their unique needs, ensuring they feel heard, understood, and empowered.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session, you will get a chance to tell your story to an unbiased, non-judgmental professional. I'll work with you to collect basic background information and ask questions regarding your presenting problems and symptoms in order to start setting up treatment goals with you. I'll also take as much time as you need to answer your questions, as therapy may be seen an intimidating experience for some.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths and assets as a therapist revolve around my flexibility and authenticity. I strongly believe in my ability to tailor therapy to your individual needs, with my skills rooted in evidence-based, person-centered modalities. My diverse background and experience in various outpatient settings, crisis programs, and large community mental health organizations has allowed me to work with so many different individuals with unique stories and circumstances, and my biggest takeaway from my work is that everybody is different. There is no "one size fits all" rule in therapy, but I will work hard alongside you to find an approach that suits your needs.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Based on my experience and expertise, I am best positioned to serve adolescents, young adults, and individuals navigating life stressors and transitions, including those within the LGBTQ+ community. My experience also extends to first responders, medical providers, law enforcement, teachers, and service workers looking to manage their stress from their careers, or those unhappy with their careers. My specialties with mental health include working with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and mood/personality disorders.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the foundation that I have built my knowledge around. CBT is based around the principles that involve resolving unwanted behavioral patterns that can be traced back to maladaptive, and often automatic, thought processes. The goal is to change how we view these patterns and distortions in thinking so that we can learn to either cope with or correct these circumstances.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is something I implement if a client is not properly responding to CBT. Sometimes, conflicting feelings or emotions can get in the way of progress, and IFS helps the client acknowledge these inner conflicts. For example, a client could understand that they need to let go of a toxic relationship, but a part of them refuses to for unknown reasons. IFS may help the client understand and resolve these reasons.

Psychodynamic

Similarly to IFS, psychodynamic principles may help when emotions overwhelm logic. Psychodynamic techniques are meant to appeal to deeper layers of subconscious thought, helping clients make connections with their past in order to resolve current difficulties.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness techniques are something I attempt to incorporate across treatment, as I believe it is incredibly difficult in today's world to stay present. When we are not present and properly engaged with our environment, we are missing what is in front of us, in plain sight, for the sake of being pre-occupied by our thoughts. Whether a client is overthinking, panicking, or lost in thought, mindfulness techniques may help bring them back to the present.
