I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. I have been working with individuals for over 12 years in office based therapy, school-based therapy, non-profits, community mental health, enrichment classes, and group homes. I have specialized experience working with many types of mental health, emotional and behavioral issues. I have experience working with individuals with anxiety, impulse control disorders, other mood disorders, life transitions and adjustments, young adult hood, perinatal mental health, college life, and relationship concerns. I take a strength based approach we will work on your strengths, develop skills, empower you to better navigate your emotions and challenges. I use a wide range of psychotherapy modalities based on the individuals need. The sessions are focused on you, your past and present, and I am there with you every step.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
During our first session I go over confidentiality, expectations, and any questions that you have for me. I let my client's know what type of therapist I am and how my sessions typically flow. The first session is our intake so there are many questions but at any point you can skip questions or come back to them. I want to know why you have made the brave decision to come to therapy and what you want to get out of therapy.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My greatest strength is that I am genuine and I am relatable. I want everyone to feel comfortable and have a safe place. I have always had a passion to help others. I believe that therapy can be beneficial for anyone at many stages of life and for different types of issues. I believe that mental health is a very important part of health, well-being, healing, growth, positive perspective, and living a meaningful life. I love helping others find healthier ways to navigate challenges in life, find hope, heal from pain, grow, build healthier relationships, identify values and have a more fulfilling life.
