Hi! I’m a licensed clinical psychologist in California. I specialize in working with adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, panic attacks, social or family challenges, and difficulties adjusting to life changes. I also often work with people of color who want a safe space to discuss issues around race, culture, or other aspects of their identity/background. I received my BA from the University of Michigan and my MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology from the George Washington University in DC, prior to completing full-time clinical training and residency in the Bay Area.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, my goal is to address any initial questions or concerns you have about therapy or other aspects of this process, follow up on responses you provided on your intake paperwork, and dive deeper into specific challenges you are facing. This will also help us collaboratively identify specific goals you want to focus on in therapy. Prior to the session ending, I will check in to see how you are feeling about scheduling another session and whether it would be helpful to continue with ongoing therapy. Sessions can be scheduled weekly or as frequently as needed, depending on both of our availability, your needs, and other factors. While working together at any point, if my clients or I feel like a different service or therapist might be a better fit, I do my best to address this as soon as possible and support my clients with that transition.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I use a collaborative approach to therapy and an integration of evidence-based techniques, such as CBT, ACT, and DBT, to tailor treatment to your specific needs, strengths, values, and background. For example, some clients may need to talk and process difficult experiences or feelings, while others may need help practicing specific coping skills or having tough conversations. And those needs can also continue to change.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Whether you are new to therapy or have been in therapy for years, I am able to meet my clients where they are at and bring a sense of warmth, openness, humor, and curiosity to sessions. I also check in to help ensure that our time together is being used effectively and that you are continuing to find therapy to be helpful.
