As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 25 years of counseling experience, I am dedicated to helping clients overcome their present adversities and achieve a more peaceful, fulfilled future. My goal is to provide a supportive and compassionate space for individuals and couples to work through life's challenges. I utilize various therapeutic modalities to tailor my approach to each client's unique needs. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Supportive Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. I also offer Christian-based counseling for those seeking to integrate their faith into the therapeutic process.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy and begin to establish a trusting, collaborative relationship. I will take the time to listen to your story, assess your needs, and develop a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your goals. You can expect a warm, non-judgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings. This initial session will lay the foundation for our work together and help you feel empowered to take the first steps towards positive change.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe in the power of active listening and empathy to foster a strong therapeutic alliance. My communication style is warm, direct, and collaborative. I strive to create a dialogue where clients feel heard, validated, and empowered to make positive changes in their lives. My ultimate goal for you is to develop the tools and insights needed to lead a more fulfilling life. Whether you are struggling with a specific issue or seeking personal growth, I am here to support you every step of the way. Together, we will work to identify and change negative patterns, build healthy coping strategies, and cultivate a greater sense of self-awareness and self-compassion.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, relationship issues, codependency, and working with victims of abuse. I have experience helping both children and adults navigate difficult life transitions and build resilience. I am committed to creating a non-judgmental environment where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and emotions.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Thoughts play a significant role in governing emotions and behavior. Changing negative thought patterns is pivotal in improving emotional well-being. By learning and applying Cognitive Behavioral techniques, I help individuals adapt and adjust their negative thinking habits and establish problem-solving skills.

Christian Counseling

Christian counseling is rooted in Biblical principles and provides scriptural counsel for dealing with the problems. While other treatment methods focus mainly on the mind or the mind-body connection, Christian counseling focus on the whole person - mind, body, and spirit. I help individuals understand how their faith or belief system impacts their mental health.

Supportive

Supportive therapy promotes emotional healing and positive changes by allowing individuals to experience compassion, empathy, commitment, and acceptance. Through supportive therapy, I have seen individuals overcome low self-esteem, anxiety, and feelings of insecurity and achieve peace and stability in their lives.
