Hello! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Orlando, FL. I received my Master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University and have been practicing for six years. I specialize in working with clients dealing with suicide, depression, low self-esteem, and those who are high-risk. My therapeutic approach is collaborative and humanistic. I believe in helping clients discover their strengths, which allows them to cultivate an improved sense of self. This, in turn, enhances daily functioning and helps them overcome everyday challenges. I utilize a variety of evidence-based techniques, including CBT & DBT tailored to each patient needs.
In our first session together, we’ll start with brief introductions to build rapport and create a warm, inviting environment. During this time, I’ll gather information to better understand the challenges you’re facing. This will help us develop a personalized plan to work through in follow-up sessions.
My greatest strength is my patience and ability to adapt to clients, regardless of who is in front of me. I have worked in post-acute rehabilitation for almost a decade, as well as in a partial hospitalization program/intensive outpatient program. These experiences have required me to be a dynamic therapist, capable of meeting diverse client needs.
I love working with young individuals who struggle to become who they want to be in life. My clients are eager to improve but don’t yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed, and anxious about their future or current struggles.
CBT was the first modality I identified with early in my practice as a therapist. I utilize it to help others with cognitive restructuring and reframing, behavioral activation, and improving problem-solving skills.
DBT has been in my repertoire for over three years, helping others improve mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
I use cognitive defusion and radical acceptance in my practice to help others gain a new perspective on their environment and struggles with their mental health.
