For this, I build on the individual's actual coping skills and create new ones that are emotionally, psychologically and culturally congruent for the client.
Wednesday: 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm Thursday: 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Friday: 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Saturday: 11:00 am - 12:00 pm and 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Sunday: 11:00 am - 12:00 pm and 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm I have been a therapist for 16 years. I am biracial, Latina, a woman of color, and an immigrant from South America. I have worked with underserved (Medi-Cal) trauma survivors from different backgrounds, ages, races, incomes, languages, LGBTQ, war victims, homeless, schizophrenic, bipolar, refugees, and individuals of several other countries and belief systems. I have learned that an "Eternal Curiosity" is the most helpful tool to serve our clients effectively. I have also discovered that clients of different cultures and countries appreciate having a clinician ask for their experiences. "Their way to see the world."
First session
In our first session, we will work on getting a "snapshot" of your life (e.g., what is working, what is not working, what you would like to achieve, characteristics of your daily life, your areas that need growth, and your strengths).
Strengths
I am fully focused on the individual's strengths when focusing on trauma work (anxiety, depression, and nightmares). Furthermore, I adapt clinical tools to the client's presentation and capacities.
Ideal clients
I have worked with underserved (Medi-Cal) trauma survivors from different backgrounds, ages, races, incomes, languages, LGBTQ, war victims, homeless, schizophrenic, bipolar, refugees, and individuals of several other countries and belief systems.
