What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, we will participate in an icebreaker activity diving into your needs and expectations for your unique journey in psychotherapy. I will conduct an initial intake assessment to gather information that will help me understand your presenting issues and reasons for therapy. This will assist us with creating an effective plan to utilize for follow up sessions.

As we all flow through life differently, I believe in highlighting our processes judgement free. We will utilize person-centered, strength-based, solution-focused, mindfulness, talk, and cognitive behavioral approaches to therapy. Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT techniques helps you with changing your way of thinking by doing the work daily, throughout sessions as well as outside of sessions. Practicing cognitive behavioral therapy exercises is designed to intervene on your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors simultaneously, to minimize negative thoughts.

Psychoeducation

As a licensed clinical social worker, I have the knowledge and credentials to teach individuals notable research about their presenting mental health information. Understanding the nature of your mental health such as symptoms, progression, treatment, alternatives, etc. are essential throughout your therapy journey.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness helps individuals ground within the present moment to manage ongoing stressors and day to day situations. Whether mindful movement or sitting mediation, learning to focus on the now, supports with calming the mind and body.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Sometimes when a problem arise, our minds tend to flutter with multiple thoughts. Focusing on creating a plan to solve the problem can promote change in how you handle unwarranted situations. This short-term treatment focuses on setting goals and working out how to achieve them effectively.

Strength-Based

This method is applied with individuals enduring hopelessness and lack of motivation. We will explore and identify your strengths within, with others, and community to promote hopefulness. Focusing on your strengths may support you with navigating your life’s choices.
