About me

Hello! I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience working with adults, teens, couples, and older adults. I provide a safe and confidential space for my clients to explore their thoughts and feelings. I utilize approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), spirituality, family structure, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), trauma-informed care, Prepare/Enrich couple therapy, and psychoeducation. These methods help address a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, insomnia, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anger management, phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), relationship problems, and family conflicts. I am dedicated to helping clients develop the skills and strategies they need to overcome life's challenges.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is the most important one in therapy, as establishing rapport is the foundation for successful treatment. During the first session, I help my clients share their life challenges and identify and validate their emotions. I also perform a risk assessment and make an intervention based on their risk status. To diagnose the client's condition, I gather information about their symptoms, the history of their challenges, and any traumatic experiences they have had. After making a diagnosis, I help the client identify their therapeutic goals and discuss the therapeutic intervention.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths as a therapist are my ability to listen with empathy, my knowledge of various therapeutic tools, and my ability to use those tools to help my clients. My CPE training taught me to read emotions between the lines and validate them. I have used CBT, ACT, MI, Spirituality, Family Structure, EMDR, Trauma-informed Care, Prepare/Enrich couple therapy, and Psychoeducation to treat depression, anxiety, insomnia, OCD, anger, phobia, PTSD, relationship issues, and family conflicts. Over the past 10 years, I have worked in community organizations, outpatient clinics, long-term care facilities, and online therapy companies to help and manage many clients. I am confident that I can help my clients help themselves.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I'm passionate about helping people overcome their challenges and live more fulfilling lives. My dream clients are individuals who are struggling with anxiety and depression. I believe that therapy can help people develop the skills they need to overcome these challenges and live more fulfilling lives. I hope my clients are prepared to process their past traumas and open up to the new possibilities.

My treatment methods

Trauma-Focused CBT

After establishing rapport, I help my clients explore and identify their traumatic experiences which are manifested in their maladaptive thoughts, emotional irregulation, and negative behaviors. Through the therapeutic process and psychoeducation, my clients will be able to process their traumatic experiences to desensitize their emotional reactivities, reregulate their nervous systems including the HPA axis, and restructure their cognitive interaction to challenge their thoughts and modify their behaviors.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

When my clients are suffering from chronic anxiety and OCD, I help my clients accept who they are and their emotions without judging or fighting their negative emotions while diffusing their negative identity and ideas and promoting their best life based on their values.

Motivational Interviewing

I utilize MI (Motivational Interview) to facilitate behavioral changes in my clients by focusing on Develop discrepancy between their current negative behaviors and their values and what they want in the future.

Couples Counseling

I utilize Prepare/Enrich program which is the #1 premarital and marriage assessment tool, using evidence-based skills and insights to foster healthy relationships.

Structural Family Therapy

I utilize Bowenian therapy to understand my clients' family dynamics and how the dynamics affect my clients' psyche and behaviors. I help my clients identify and change their negative family dynamics by learning and implementing healthy boundary settings and communication skills.
