I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Old Dominion University and Bachelor of Social Work from Virginia Wesleyan University. Originally from outside of Philadelphia, PA, I lived in FL, CT and VA as a Navy Sailor and then Navy spouse. My diverse life experience adds to my counseling practice as I easily empathize with people in the midst of various life transitions. My passion is supporting people through life challenges, whether they are related to work, school, family, or other personal experiences.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, we begin with introductions. I give a brief account of my history and inform you of privacy. We then delve into the topics that have brought you in to therapy. I ask questions along the way to understand more thoroughly your needs and wants from therapy to establish a plan of action.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My diverse background and unique life experiences have influenced my ability to empathize with the clients I serve. I approach each person individually, conceptualizing their goals with them and for them specifically because I know how diverse and unique they are also.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work with people of all ages, acknowledging challenges are faced at every phase of life and that these challenges often overlap. My professional experience with children/teenagers and families includes, but is not limited to working with students from SECEP with ASD diagnosis, intellectual disabilities and behavioral issues; EDMARC children's hospice; and intensive in-home counseling for families facing crisis. I have also worked with children/teens/young adults on career exploration, bullying, anxiety, self-harm, oppositional behaviors, foster care and adoption, sexual abuse and other abuse, separated families, etc. I work with young adults through elderly on the challenges of navigating adult responsibilities while coping with physical changes, emotional turmoil, family dynamics, work stressors, medical stressors, addictions and many other concerns. People who are caretaking for others and are looking for support for themselves. My experience with adults includes working with persons in a social worker context through supportive housing, case management on the behavioral health docket and guardianship. All three of these roles were predominantly with people diagnosed with severe mental illness. I enjoy working with people who are trying to establish a new path after incarceration.
