Hi! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in New York. I received my Masters from New York University in New York and have been practicing for 4 years. I help a wide range of clients such as children, adolescents and adults who are struggling with anxiety, stress, relationship issues, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, with the goal of helping them live a more fulfilling life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session together would be considered the "intake session." During this session, we'll start with a brief introduction, then explore the specific challenges you're struggling with. This will help to create a more tailored and best fit plan for us to work with during follow-up sessions. In this intake session, you will also have the opportunity to address any questions or concerns you may have at the time.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My experience as a teacher has led me to understand the fact that there are many different obstacles that children face each day, and that it is important for them to be provided with a safe space to express themselves and cope with their traumas. This also has allowed me to view adults in a different perspective, with the understanding that they too need a safe and comfortable space to be able to genuinely express what they are struggling with without feeling judged.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Using CBT has allowed clients to learn how to identify and change negative thought patterns that have an influence on their behavior and emotions. Helping clients identify a connection between their thoughts and behavior/emotions is something that I feel is important in helping clients understand their traumas and struggles.

Integrative

Using an Integrative approach allows a therapist to be flexible in treatment planning with a client. This allows for the therapist to be able to use one or more evidence based approaches to meet the client where they are and a tailor therapy to the specific needs of an individual without sticking to one particular framework. I believe this approach allows clients to feel more comfortable with the work they are doing, without feel stuck to adhering to one particular orientation.

Narrative

Narrative therapy is a great way to empower clients and reclaim agency of their own lives regardless of what they went through. By being able to tell one's stories, allows clients to become more self aware by examining their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This is also a great way to address a wide range of issues, by allowing clients to see their traumas from new perspective.
