Hello, I am a licensed marriage and family therapist practicing in the state of California. I have been in the mental health field for over 10 years and have extensive background working in addiction medicine, individuals struggling with anxiety. I am passionate about helping individuals in their healing journey. I strive to create a safe and nurturing environment for my clients to allow themselves to experience their full humanness without judgment.
The first session is all about getting to know you and assessing the goals of treatment.
My biggest strength as a provider is my ability to create a safe space where patient's feel connected and supported. I'm constantly on a journey where I continue to challenge myself to continue growing as a person which involves seeking out information, learning from other experts and it is something that I also bring with me to my sessions with clients.
During my graduate program I was specifically trained in this modality. I specifically love incorporating this approach into my practice as I believe is important for individuals to be able to create separation between themselves and the problem. It helps patient acknowledge that they have agency over the problem and that there are many parts already within themselves that will help them manage.
I specifically love to use IFS as a tool to help patient explore parts of themselves relating to their inner child that need to acknowledge and integrated into their sense of self.
I also incorporate this modality into treatment in order to bridge a connection between body, mind and spirit. Trauma is not just something to be understood with the mind but true healing happens when we are able to acknowledge trauma injuries that lie within our bodies and the importance of using our bodies to heal.
I am a sex therapy informed therapist with extensive training in this area and can support patient's specifically dealing with sex related issues.
