In our first session, we would do a meet and greet and dive into presenting concerns, collect psychiatric, medical, and social histories, discuss treatment options, collaboratively set goals, and from there a treatment plan will be developed/explained.
Through my work in community health, I have built a flexible set of skills that help me support people with many different mental health needs. I understand how social factors like housing, work, and relationships affect mental health, and I use this knowledge to provide care that is both effective and compassionate.
I have experience treating a wide range of mental health conditions across the lifespan. My goal is to help patients make meaningful improvements in their mental health, empower them to face challenges with confidence, and provide ongoing support throughout their journey.
In my work, I use a supportive psychotherapy approach that focuses on helping patients strengthen their coping skills, manage stressors, and build resilience. I provide encouragement, reassurance, and guidance to reduce distress and maintain daily functioning. I focus on fostering a safe and consistent therapeutic relationship where patients feel understood and supported. Together, we work to recognize and build on existing strengths, develop practical strategies for managing symptoms, and restore a sense of stability and hope. While I acknowledge the close connection between mental and physical health, my emphasis is on providing emotional support, stabilizing symptoms, and helping patients adapt to life’s challenges in a healthier way.
In my practice, I use psychoeducation to help individuals and families better understand mental health conditions and the treatment process. I provide clear information about symptoms, coping strategies, and available treatment options in a way that is tailored to each person’s needs. My goal is to empower patients to actively participate in their care, reduce uncertainty or fear, and strengthen their ability to manage challenges. By involving both individuals and, when appropriate, their families, I aim to build confidence, improve treatment engagement, and support overall well-being.
