My name is Cirse (Sear-Say) Nieto. I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) licensed marriage and family therapist. I am a graduate of California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor’s in Human Services and a Master’s degree in Counseling. I have experience working in community mental health, where I have worked with clients of Latinx descent as well as of other cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
As part of our initial session, I will complete a full assessment to better understand who you are. I will also work with you using a collaborative approach to develop goals, based on individual needs and desired objectives. As part of treatment, I like to meet clients where they are at, as they are the experts of their life. I also provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can freely express yourself and work towards healing.
I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Seeking Safety, Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), and Culturally Informed and Flexible Family Based Treatment for Adolescents (CIFFTA). Change is the constant certainty in life and life has numerous challenges, but the potential for resilience and strength are tremendous with each life experience. I would be humbled to be part of your life journey as you navigate life’s challenges.
I have experience working with all ages and I am comfortable with individuals and families. I enjoy working with clients to explore acculturation challenges that may be contributing to relationship issues, anxiety, depression, and difficult life transitions. Additionally, I enjoy supporting individuals on their journey towards parenthood. I appreciate individual differences and I collaborate with clients to respect their needs and cultural values. I utilize an integrative approach with clients, depending on their needs. However, I enjoy using person centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, Gestalt, mindfulness, and structural therapy.
Cirse Nieto offers therapy covered by Health Plan of San Joaquin - Medi-Cal in California.
Recognizing the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviors can help promote insight and behavioral changes to manage unwanted behaviors often affecting mental wellbeing and relationships. Using CBT, we can work to develop healthier alternatives and thinking patterns to help learn new coping skills to improve overall wellbeing. However, I use various treatment modalities and tailor treatment according to client needs.
