I am a psychologist based in AZ and licensed in AZ, NV, and WI. I have been a licensed psychologist working with adults, children, and adolescents for 14 years. I received my PhD in psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). My goal is to help patients improve their quality of life. I work with individuals of all ages and provide individual and family therapy. I am also a board-certified child and adolescent psychologist. My areas of expertise include posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)/trauma, anxiety conditions, and depression/mood disorders. I also specialize in working with individuals with chronic or acute health conditions such as cancer, chronic pain, migraines, asthma, and injuries who are also experiencing psychological symptoms as well (depression, anxiety, trauma, etc). I also am a board-certified child and adolescent psychologist.
In our first session together, a comprehensive intake will be conducted that takes about 45-60 minutes. We will review what led you to treatment and history including psychiatric, family, and social histories. We will also develop a treatment plan that includes your goals for our time together.
My goal is to help my clients improve their overall quality of life. I believe in focusing on whole-body health and examining the relationship between the body and mind. I strive to help you meet your overall goals and provide you with the tools to meet future challenges that may arise.

CBT examines the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together I work with clients to look for patterns in these relationships and begin to replace potentially negative and maladaptive ways of thinking with more positive and rational thoughts. The inclusion of relaxation techniques for those with somatic symptoms (panic attacks, muscle tension, headaches, stomachaches, etc) is also an important component.
TF-CBT is a type of CBT that focuses specifically on the impacts of trauma. The use of relaxation techniques, emotional regulation, as well as the use of trauma narration, and processing are used. I also work with clients to develop a graduated exposure program that includes a hierarchy of traumatic/feared reminders/memories that cause distress that will be addressed gradually from least distressing to most distressing in conjunction with relaxation skills and other CBT skills to manage the distress levels.
Mindfulness-based therapy encourages the client to be more aware of their body, the present, and their surroundings. Meditation, relaxation techniques, and mindfulness exercises are incorporated into treatment.
I work with each client to ensure the approach I use is tailored to their needs, including integrating aspects from various treatment methods.
