Greetings! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in the state of Indiana. Entering into a counseling relationship can be a scary thing for many people. Some folks are hesitant about therapy, perhaps based on past experiences. Others are considering therapy for the first time and they don’t know what to expect from their counselor nor have any idea of what might be expected of themselves. Whatever your background, I applaud you for taking a first step and inquiring about counseling. I graduated from Plymouth State University in Plymouth, New Hampshire with a Bachelors degree in Social Work. I received my Masters degree is Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA I have been a practicing Social Worker for approximately 9 years. Expertise-wise, I have worked in many different treatment settings, including hospitals, emergency rooms, outpatient therapy centers, and domestic violence shelters.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I have an eclectic approach to therapy that is client-centered. I begin with conversations that are aimed at establishing trust and confidence. We will work together to identify strengths, skills and concerns and develop a real-life proactive strategy that is natural and workable. I believe that this strengths based approach creates a solid foundation for a therapy program that is client-owned, forward looking, and sustainable.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I assist clients who struggle with a variety of concerns, including stress, anxiety, depression, trauma and abuse, grief and loss, chronic illness , life transitions, and disability issues. My treatment methods I use most often are Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strength Based Therapy, Trauma Focused Therapy,Task Centered Therapy, and EFT Therapy

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Expertise-wise, I have worked in many different treatment settings, including hospitals, emergency rooms, outpatient therapy centers, and domestic violence shelters. My personal treatment style is warm, empathic, interactive, culturally sensitive and client-centered. I’m a good listener. I have a great sense of humor and I enjoy laughing…mostly at myself.
