Welcome! It can be daunting to scroll through all these profiles so congratulations on getting to this part of your journey! Are you struggling to cope with life changes such as divorce or career change? Are anxious negative thoughts consuming your day to day and not permitting you to focus on the here and now? Do you find yourself being highly self critical, or struggling to communicate your needs in a relationship? As a therapist, I'm passionate about providing a safe space through culturally responsive and trauma informed care. I have 6 years of experience working across all lifespans but with a current interest in assisting adults work through life transitions, anxiety disorders and depression. I have also worked extensively with clients addressing women specific issues such as gender roles in relationships, self-esteem, body issues and motherhood. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

*Prior to the intake appointment, a free 15 minute consultation call is required. * Consultation calls help to determine on a preliminary basis if we're a good match through discussing my therapy approach, what you're seeking and brief history with mental health treatment. During the intake session, we will go further into your presenting concerns, gather general information about diagnostic symptoms and different life areas. We will review your goals for therapy and my recommendations. Sometimes this means discussing other treatment options and a referral if my clinical recommendation is that I am not the best fit to meet your needs and/or require a higher level of care. For all sessions I begin with confirming location for safety reasons and ask that clients be in a confidential space and if in a vehicle, be parked with no other passengers.

I'm a firm believer in transparency and in therapy being a collaborative effort which helps to foster a safe space to explore difficult emotions.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a useful tool to help you identify reoccurring maladaptive thinking patterns contributing to emotional distress, and the connection between our thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Together we will identify these patterns to shift your thinking, make behavioral changes, learn practical coping skills and overall enact positive changes in your life. I may introduce worksheets to facilitate the practice of skills in between sessions.

Psychodynamic

I enjoy coupling CBT with a psychodynamic perspective to help clients develop deeper understanding of themselves and their past in order to gain insight into present experiences, behaviors, and emotions. Together we will explore your early life experiences, relationships and uncover any defense mechanisms.
