I have been a therapist for over 15 years in a number of different settings. I have developed a passion for joining with clients to see their whole picture, to understand the why behind who they are, to develop compassion for the different parts of yourself and to tap into the innate abilities, insights and skills client's have to grow. I want to help you start to live a more examined life, one where you can experience more control.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is really a space for us to get to know each other, for me to understand what it is your looking for in therapy, what brought you here and for you to get a sense if this is a good working relationship for you. In my opinion the therapeutic relationship is one of the most essential pieces to doing the work. I want you to leave the first session with a vision of how to get from point A to point B and with a sense that I am the right person to join in that journey with.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am an active participant in therapy, I join with, I reflect, I ask questions with curiosity that hopefully challenge you in compassionate ways.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Starting therapy can bring a mix of emotions. I want to create a space that makes you feel safe, seen and comfortable to begin to explore the reasons that led you to therapy. To start to learn ways to understand and manage the symptoms of depression, anxiety and/or trauma you may be experiencing and to set goals of what you want your life to look like in the future. I want to foster a sense of curiosity and compassion to help you on your healing journey.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

So often we live our life on autopilot, utilizing components of CBT and other modalities, I like to join with clients to help them slow down and learn to gain more control and understanding of their conscious mind.

Psychoeducation

Understanding your experience is key to changing unhealthy narratives, feeling understood and starting to offer self-compassion.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma changes our beliefs about the world, ourselves and relationships. TF-CBT can help you learn to understand those belief systems, view them as once adaptive beliefs and start to change those that no longer serve you.

Humanistic

There is so much to your whole being, I like to join with clients to tap into innate strengths and abilities to heal and grow.

Mind-body approach

I like to help people understand their window of tolerance, to start to learn skills to gain more control over shifting your energy to a place that feels safer.
