Hi! My name is Marta, Why just survive when we can thrive? This is the question we need to ask ourselves when thinking about starting therapy. I have dedicated my career to help answer this question, with over six years experience working within a variety of specialties and populations. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor that has worked extensively with individuals struggling with relationship dissatisfaction and other relational issues, depression, anxiety, anger and emotion management, emotional eating, panic attacks, trauma, struggles with self-esteem, stress-management and burnout, difficulties with parenting or co-parenting, career related hurdles and work dissatisfaction, adult ADHD, OCD, and intrusive thoughts. I work with adults trying to navigate life’s hurdles, and am very well versed in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and a variety of other methods, therapies, and techniques to help you achieve your goals. I take a creative and holistic approach with treatment to make sure we nourish our mind-body connection and cater to each individual clients needs using a client centered approach in addition to other techniques. My focus is on personal fulfillment, growth, and change and I am also a huge advocate for self-care. Whether you're dealing with overwhelming emotions, a lack of balance, relationship issues or cycles of anxiety and depression, I'm here to help. It can be hard to ask for support, and even more difficult to open up to someone new, and this is a great first step! Together, we can work towards finding the root of your struggles, and move towards cultivating a full and abundant life. So now we ask, are we ready to thrive?
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, take some time to get to know each other, then dive into specific challenges you're facing. This will help us create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions, where we can expect a balance between a more guided approach with skill-building and techniques to help us reach our goals, and traditional talk therapy.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
I use a diverse approach that includes stringing together techniques and methods from therapies such as Psychodynamic, Interpersonal and Relational, Dialectical Behavioral, Acceptance and Commitment, Cognitive Behavioral, Emotion Focused, Solution Focused and Strength Based, Narrative Therapy, and Gestalt. Depending on the clients needs we may reach in to the past to better understand our present, to then bring our focus to our "here and now" experience of our thoughts and emotions. We may explore old habits and patters of behavior and coping, all this is to help build self-awareness and create the space we need to move forward. We will also focus on building the skills we need to thrive in various areas of our lives, with in session discussions, assessments, and occasional assignments.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My biggest strength in therapy is staying consistent with the client-centered and holistic approach described above. I want to make sure to meet your needs in every way, and therefore I am dedicated to making sure that each therapeutic method and technique is catered to you and your needs.
