Hello, I am Alex, If you know some things in your life need to change are unsure of where to start, I am here to help. Do you every feel stuck and the old way of thinking is not helping? I can help you navigate the troubles in life and learn new ways to see and/or cope with stressors and barriers. I empower individuals to overcome adversity while acknowledging the issues without staying stuck. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, uncertainty in self and/or relationships or feeling burnt out, together we can identify what is working verse not working in order to start healing and growing.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Many times, setting up an appointment is the most challenging part because we are unsure of what to expect. What you can expect from our sessions is to have a safe space where you can share your feelings, struggles and/or problems in a judgement free zone with a game plan on how to navigate and address the issues.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

My therapeutic style is warm, compassionate and engaging. It is important to remember that we come to therapy with some hesitation and being able to provide a safe space is key. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to explore how our feelings influence our decisions and behaviors. Therapy allows the opportunity to develop the tools to bring awareness to us and patterns that impact challenging emotions and/or behaviors.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

For most of my career I have worked with adolescents and families, addressing the family dynamics and the impact our relationships play in our roles and relationships with others. The last 5 years, I have worked with individuals both adolescents and adults who are struggling with substance use disorders. In my experience, substance use disorder and mental health go hand and hand. While addressing the "root" of the addiction and behaviors, we learn new ways to cope with stressors and negative behaviors. I empower individuals to work through anxiety and depression with compassion and hope.
