Hi! I'm a multi-cultural therapist with over 23 years of experience in social work. I've been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2012. I received my Master's Degree in social work from San Diego State University in 2004. I describe my therapy style as empathic, strengths-based, and person-centered. I live and work in California, and I have worked with very diverse clients and families throughout my years in social work. I help empower adults and older children to work through their traumas, find healing, and greater resiliency. I also love working with diverse clients, including the LGBTQ+ community.
In our first session together, we will spend some time getting to know each other, and I will be focused on your unique life journey and what brings you to therapy. In learning about your challenges, strengths, and goals, we will co-create meaningful next steps for you in the therapeutic space.
I think some of my greatest strengths as a therapist are showing up for my clients with compassion, authenticity, a growth mindset, and a non-judgmental stance.
I love working with LGBTQ+ community, people of color, and those with disabilities that are ready to heal their past traumas and re-claim their worth in society. I really enjoy seeing diverse clients succeed at their life goals, and I am always humbled to be a small part of supporting their journey of growth and empowerment.
I often use MI interventions of empathy, open-ended questions, active listening, and summarizing to best understand each client's current situation and their readiness to move forward.
Solution-focused strategies such as coping, scaling, and preferred future questions are both great engagement and critical thinking interventions with my clients.
