I use CBT to help client manage symptoms of mental illness, prevent a relapse of mental illness symptoms, treat a mental illness when medications aren't a good option, learn techniques for coping with stressful life situations, identify ways to manage emotions, resolve relationship conflicts and learn better ways to communicate, cope with grief or loss, overcome emotional trauma related to abuse or violence, cope with a medical illness, and manage chronic physical symptoms.
I use DBT to help client who experience emotions very intensely who suffer from depression, anxiety, post-traumatic-stress disorder, and eating disorders, specifically binge eating disorder and bulimia.
I incorporate mindfulness practices that include present moment awareness, meditation, and breathing exercises to treat a variety of different medical conditions, both mental and physical. It improves focus and memory, empathy and compassion, and increased overall quality of life in addition to improving mood disorders such as depression and anxiety.
ACT is a great treatment method that I use with clients to teach self-acceptance and embracing thoughts and feelings.
CPT is one the treatment methods I use to help client work through traumatic experiences.
