LCSW, 10 years of experience
I am deeply committed to providing compassionate and effective care to individuals of all ages. I integrate a variety of evidence-based psychotherapy modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and others, to address a wide range of mental health concerns. Whether my clients are struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, or mood disorders, I work collaboratively with them to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to their unique needs and goals. It is my privilege to accompany individuals on their journey towards healing and personal growth, and I am dedicated to providing a safe and supportive therapeutic environment where they can explore, heal, and thrive.
During our intake first session, you can expect a warm and welcoming environment where your comfort and confidentiality are prioritized. This initial session serves as an opportunity for us to get to know each other better and begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship. We will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your personal history, and any goals or concerns you may have. By the end of the session, we will collaboratively outline a plan for moving forward, tailored to your individual needs and preferences.
As a therapist, my greatest strengths lie in my person centered approach to therapy. I firmly believe in the inherent resilience and capacity for growth within each individual, and I am passionate about empowering my clients to tap into their own inner resources and wisdom.
As a therapist, I specialize in working with adults aged 18 to 64 who are actively motivated to embark on a journey of personal growth. My therapeutic style is collaborative, empathetic, and nonjudgmental, providing a safe space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences openly and authentically.
EMDR is a psychotherapy approach primarily used to treat individuals who have experienced trauma, although it has also been applied to other mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and phobias. This therapy involves a structured eight-phase process during which the therapist helps the client process distressing memories or experiences in a safe and controlled environment.
CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, and that by changing unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, we can improve our emotional well-being.
DBT emphasizes a dialectical philosophy, which involves finding a balance between acceptance and change. I incorporate mindfulness, interpersonal skills development, emotional self-regulation and distress tolerance in sessions with clients that might benefit from skills to help address their emotional and behavioral responses.
