Hello! Let me tell you a little about myself. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Board-certified Art Therapist in the states of Georgia and New Jersey. I have been in the counseling field for over ten years. I graduated with honors from Caldwell University in New Jersey, receiving a dual master's in Psychology Mental Health Counseling with an Art Therapy Specialization. I am passionate about using creativity to heal and empower others. I believe in the therapeutic process of one person helping another and the significant impact kindness can make. We all deserve a safe space to freely express ourselves in a judgmental world. I want to provide this space for you to grow and fulfill your destiny to be great. I take an integrative and holistic approach to therapy, grounded in the belief that individuals are complex beings influenced by their relationships, environments, and personal histories. By understanding these diverse dynamics, I can help you navigate challenges, foster personal growth, and help you develop healthier relationships. I have experience addressing a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, self-esteem, and life transitions. I have extensive experience navigating family challenges related to parenting, blended families, divorce, and conflict resolution. I have experience working in the Hospital Emergency room, Children’s Hospital, Residential substance abuse, Cognitive Traumatic Brian Injury and Disabilities, Mental Health Inpatient /Outpatient, Private practice, and Crisis Intervention In-home therapy. My specialty is working with children and adolescents from ages 4 through 16. As a therapist specializing in this age group, I empower children and emerging youth to explore their thoughts and feelings, by supporting them to navigate through challenges and develop new coping strategies. The therapeutic process not only provides a means of expression, but also helps children develop self-awareness, problem-solving skills, and emotional regulation. I tailor art therapy interventions to match each child's developmental level and provide them with age-appropriate tools to effectively express themselves. My goal is to help children develop resilience, self-confidence, and a greater understanding of themselves. “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” ― Maya Angelou.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session together will start with brief introductions and what your expectations might be. We will discuss symptoms, history of diagnosis, family background, therapeutic goals, and availability. This important information helps me to create a treatment plan individually tailored to your specific needs. I like to schedule follow-up sessions four-weeks in advance, so we both know when and where to meet for the next month.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Working with me, we will discover what works best for you! I am skilled in multiple modalities and approaches. I provide a combination of Psychotherapy with Art Therapy to create a unique and transformative experience going beyond traditional talk therapy. Art therapy can be particularly beneficial for those seeking healing from trauma, loss, stress, and transitions. Counseling sessions incorporate evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT), combined with psychodynamic modalities, solution-focused goals, and mindfulness techniques. Through this process, you can discover new perspectives, release emotional tension, and access deeper levels of self-awareness.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I also offer a ten-week art therapy course catered to those who are experiencing depression or anxiety. Each week there is a new art directive used to identify personal strengths and interests, and gradually decrease symptoms. This ten-week course includes a welcome box filled with art materials, 8 art directives, an anxiety coping skills toolkit, and additional items. Each week's session is 60 minutes and is presented virtually. Please set up a consultation for more information! Consultations are at no cost and have no obligation for services. I am here to help guide you on your path to better you.
