I know what it’s like to feel trapped by emotional pain. After losing my mom in 2005 I embarked on a journey through grief that made me the person I am today. The grief will stay with me forever, but I now have life lessons that I’ve learned because of it. I am here to help you. It’s often hard to admit that you are struggling and even harder to ask for help. You will never “get over” the person you lost, but you will find a way to work through the pain and eventually it will fade and become more manageable. I’m living proof of that. I’ve been a licensed mental health counselor for more than 15 years, and I’ve spent my career helping my clients work through grief, cope with postpartum depression and anxiety, and find coping skills that work to decrease stress and anxiety. You don’t have to feel this way anymore. I can help when you feel like you are drowning in pain, and together we will navigate the journey to happiness. I look forward to helping you heal!

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the first session I will get to know you and your main goals and concerns for our work together. Then we will make a plan together on how to best meet those goals. My goal is to make therapy a comfortable and rewarding experience for my clients.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have both personal and professional experience with grief and postpartum depression and anxiety, which allows me to understand these struggles on a deep level as we walk through it together. Empowering my clients is one of my biggest strengths, and I do this through guiding you towards the answers you are seeking and helping you to make decisions that will help you create the life that you want to live.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I believe that understanding the relationship between thoughts and behavior is one of the key ways that we can elicit change in our life and find greater purpose and happiness. This is integrated into my sessions with clients to help them take what they learn outside of our sessions into their daily life.

Grief Therapy

I believe in the importance of having regular support and validation when coping with a loss, no matter the type. Through regular sessions, I will help you understand how grief is affecting the various areas of your life, understand the emotions associated with grief, and work towards regaining happiness and purpose in your life.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

My clients are encouraged to take charge of their healing and become empowered through our sessions together. I am to focus on the most present issues first, and then work towards resolving the issues that may be hidden beneath or have not yet been uncovered.
