Hi there, I'm Anna! I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in Cincinnati, Ohio. I've been in practice for 8 years. I became interested in this profession because of my own battles with mental health. There have been times that I've been debilitated to the point where I was unable to function, and lived through paralyzing fear, trauma, crippling depression, and the belief that I would never be able to live a fulfilling life. Thanks to the therapy I received to overcome these obstacles, I got my Bachelor's & Master's Degrees at Marshall University. Throughout my career I've worked with individuals struggling with addiction, PTSD, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, grief, psychotic disorders, mood disorders, and trauma. I strive to help anyone struggling with their mental health, an obstacle, or painful experience to find fulfillment, peace, and functionality in their lives. I know that this world is imperfect, ever-changing, and hard to navigate. I can provide unconditional positive regard, empathy, validation, and most importantly, solutions. I'd love to provide you with the light you need to see a path forward - it's there!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will explore your current stressors, symptoms, historical information, and what you wish to gain from therapy. You can tell me what you like in a therapist and what you don't like, and I'll adjust accordingly. I'll also introduce you to myself, the techniques/modalities that I utilize, and allow you time to ask me any questions you might have. This will help us create an individualized treatment plan that fits you and your needs, unique from anyone else.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I meet my clients where they are. If you tell me who you are and what you need, I believe you. I listen to your needs, concerns, and feelings, and I validate them. I'm creative in tailoring my approach to the person who matter most - you. Nothing you tell me will shock me or make me turn away from you, because although I can't claim to have heard it all, I've heard a lot and held space and compassion regardless. I'm experienced in a wide spectrum of disorders, and although I'm always kind, I'm able to challenge negative behaviors and thoughts in a way that is motivating and tactful. I'm well-versed in many treatment modalities, giving me the ability to work as a chameleon in adjusting to your needs, stressors in your life, and where you are in your journey at each session. Most importantly, I am genuine and real. I'm myself in every session, imperfect just like anyone else, but dedicated to helping you reach your goals.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) is a type of psychotherapy that uses mindfulness and acceptance strategies to help people adapt to challenges in life. ACT is based on the idea that negative emotions like grief, pain, and anxiety are inevitable parts of life. The goal of ACT is to help people develop psychological flexibility so they can adapt to these challenges instead of trying to suppress or eliminate them.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that combines cognitive therapy and behavior therapy to help people manage mental health issues. CBT is based on the idea that how people think about situations can affect their feelings and behaviors. CBT therapists help people identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts, learn self-help strategies, and change their behavior.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a type of psychotherapy that helps people who experience emotions intensely manage their feelings and make positive life changes. It's based on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and was originally developed to treat borderline personality disorder (BPD). However, DBT can also be useful for treating a wide range of other mental health conditions. Its cornerstones are mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Compassion Focused

Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), or Compassion Mind Training (CMF), is the concept of incorporating compassion training techniques into psychotherapy to induce kinder thinking habits. This type of therapy emphasizes the importance of compassion and self-compassion in interactions with the world and the self.

Eclectic

Therapy not one-size-fits-all. Eclectic therapy, also known as integrative or multi-modal therapy, is a flexible and personalized approach to psychotherapy that combines multiple theoretical approaches and techniques to address a patient's needs. Eclectic therapists draw from a variety of disciplines and consider the patient's unique circumstances, including their goals, motivations, strengths, and weaknesses, to create a customized treatment plan
