17 years of experience

My name is Stacy Richardson. I hold a Ph.D. in Psychology from North Central University as well as a Master's in Human Services with Specialization in Marital, Couples, and Family from Capella University. I am licensed in the states of California, Hawaii, and Virginia. My approach to therapy is solution-focused, client-centered, and eclectic to meet the individual needs of clients. I work with individual adults 18+, and older adults using approaches such as Dialectical Behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral, solution focused, motivational interviewing, structural, and narrative therapy. Please note that I provide individual counseling and not couples counseling on Grow.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I try to create a safe, welcoming, non-judgmental, and open environment with clients. This allows clients to ideally feel they can express and share about themselves in a way that is uninhibited. During our first session together, we'll kick off the session with brief introductions, followed by getting into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe while life’s challenges provide us an opportunity to persevere in situations, behaviors may result as a way to meet that need or situation. I believe in working with you, as a partner to help you identify the solutions that will meet your unique and personal needs. I approach providing services by honoring and respecting our uniqueness and differences.
