What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The pursuit of health, happiness, and healing are aspects that we all strive for, and that can be accelerated with additional support and insight oriented therapy. I work with children, adolescents, families, and adults. I have experience in treating a variety of conditions, such as depression, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, and behavioral issues. We will work together to create goals to achieve positive mental health.

My therapeutic approach is eclectic; collaborative. Rather than applying one-size-fits-all approach, I adapt my treatments to best fit your needs. My goal is to find the most effective way to help you recognize and utilize your own internal strengths and resources. I strive to understand people as individuals rather than specific labels.

Compassion Focused

CMT is comprised of guided exercises—including role-playing, visualization, meditation, and activities intended to foster appreciation for daily life—that aim to help the client recognize what compassion feels like and become better at practicing it, both toward themselves and toward others.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT with my clients and families. It’s helped clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.

Child Parent Psychotherapy

The treatment is based in attachment theory but also integrates psychodynamic, developmental, trauma, social learning, and cognitive behavioral theories. Therapeutic sessions include the child and parent or primary caregiver. The primary goal of CPP is to support and strengthen the relationship between a child and his or her caregiver as a vehicle for restoring the child's cognitive, behavioral, and social functioning. Treatment also focuses on contextual factors that may affect the caregiver-child relationship.

Humanistic

Humanistic therapy adopts a holistic approach that focuses on free will, human potential, and self-discovery. It aims to help you develop a strong and healthy sense of self, explore your feelings, find meaning, and focus on your strengths.
