Hey there! I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) based in Pennsylvania. I also have my LPC license in South Carolina. I received my masters degree in professional counseling from Grand Canyon University in 2018 and have been focusing on trauma informed care since. I work with adolescents and adults struggling with trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, and all the side effects that stem from those.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I like to go over the intake form personally to ensure I am understanding of the information you provided. I will ask questions to get to know you better, leave the floor open for questions to be asked for me so you can get to know me better and we start to develop a treatment plan together to ensure we are always staying on track and not wasting any time or money.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a prior military wife, I have had so many opportunities to talk and work with trauma survivors from all walks of life. I, too, am a trauma survivor and I feel that my personal experience, combined with my professional experience, not only brings a sense of professionalism but also a more genuine and deeper level of empathy and understanding for clients. I also understand and encourage dark humor when working through the therapeutic process. Although it is not appropriate for every client, I encourage those who do find comfort in dark humor to use it.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with individuals who are ready for change. My clients are willing to put in the work to get themselves to their goals, but also stay open-minded to question everything along the way. My clients are of all diversity and share the common ground of wanting to achieve happiness and fulfillment within their lives.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I use a self-tapping method for clients to help process through traumatic events/memories, negative cognitions, and unwanted behavioral reactions due to trauma responses.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

We break down specific situations, thoughts, emotions, physical feelings, and actions to help create reflection and establish goals to work towards desired outcomes.

Psychoeducation

Many clients need the understanding of what is happening to them and why. Providing psycho-education for clients has proven to be helpful in my practice, and I offer it as part of your treatment.

Somatic

Not many people realize that trauma can be held in a physical form in your body. With this approach, we explore this holding and learn how to release it.

Strength-Based

Every client has specific strengths to them and with this therapy approach, we will identify them and learn how to incorporate them into daily life to help you reach your goals.
