I am a licensed Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am also dual certified in Family Medicine. Throughout my nearly 24 year career in medicine my focus has been in helping people through their most difficult challenges. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to anxiety, depression, and self-care. I focus on helping clients develop assertive communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve their quality of life.
Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We will start with brief introductions and then dive right into what challenges you are facing and the goals that you would like to achieve in our sessions. This helps me tailor a plan for us to work through at future sessions.
Some of my greatest strengths are 1) providing an open and comfortable atmosphere where my clients feel that they can make progress toward their goals, and 2) creating a plan that leads to measurable progress and feeling better.
As a military veteran myself, I enjoy working with other veterans, active duty members, and their families. My clients are eager to improve but don't know how to use positive coping techniques and the skills needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed, and anxious about the next steps. I love working with my clients in setting goals and working towards achieving those goals.
