For the last seven years I have worked with clients including but not limited to adults, couples, and families dealing with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, addiction, marital problems, anger problems, and vast other areas of mental health in clinical and hospital settings. As a Clinician I hope to help others better understand the complications that can occur in life on a daily basis and how to maintain a balance so those problems do not define them as a person. I hope to help people understand what counseling truly is and is able to do for them in the correct setting. I hope they will gain a better understanding of the true purpose of counseling to help them grow as a person. I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Minor in Faith Development. I have a Masters of Arts in Professional Counseling.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
For many therapy has become just a place to vent their problems and check in their feelings with their Therapist. Allow me to challenge your way of thinking and behavior to see how change can effect your mental health in a positive way, let me be a listening board for you but also someone who pushes you towards your goals and deal with your past.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
Codependency Behavioral, Solution Focused Brief (SFBT), Rational Emotive Behavior (REBT), Positive Psychology, Gottman Method, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), and Behavior Modification
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My strengths as a Therapist are being able to challenge clients in areas where some Therapist do not feel comfortable doing so. Communication works two ways Listening and Speaking, I believe that the first is the biggest part of therapy and the second is where some others may miss. Where I excel is being able to work with you on the problem and finding a solution and being able to provide more than just feedback and a summary of your communication.
