Hi, I’m Abby. I help children, adolescents, and young adult college students learn to manage anxiety and depression as well as take control of focus and organization. We will work together to help you identify challenges and triggers, learn and implement healthy coping skills, and identify resources and supports. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and creative therapies to help you achieve your goals. I can’t wait to partner with you on this journey!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect a welcoming atmosphere and to be able to discuss the challenges that have brought them to therapy, and we will work to identify their desired changes and create a collaborative plan to address treatment goals. We will also create a safety/crisis plan to identify coping skills, natural supports, and community resources that can be utilized in crisis situations.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My passion is working with children, adolescents and young adults. I am experienced with helping my patients work through trauma, adjustment to major life changes, as well helping to develop strong coping for anxiety, depression, ADHD, and OCD.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT as the basis for treatment, being aware of thoughts and thought distortions and how they impact on emotions and behaviors is key to making sustained changes.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I have integrated mindfulness practice into treatment for many years. This is often in the form of emotion regulation skills that bring awareness to the present moment and physical, mental, social, and emotional experiences.

Play Therapy

I am a Registered Play Therapist, and have been utilizing play therapy strategies for many years. I utilize both Child Centered as well as Directive play therapy approaches.
