Do you find yourself questioning choices you make in life, or how you experience relationships? You are not alone. With nearly 20 years of experience working with children, teens, adults, and families, I am here to assist you in better understanding of self, and to work to become a happier and healthier you. In building a trusting relationship that's non-judgemental and genuine, I meet you where you are. We will work together to help you gain better insight, and address the emotional and mental difficulties that may be present due to past and current stressors. I work with adolescents and adults who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief and loss, behavioral issues, ADHD, mood disorders, family conflict, relationship issues, low self-esteem, codependency, and coping issues. I assist in empowering them to gain emotional regulation, healthier cognitive skills and behaviors, and coping strategies to improve their lives. I hope to talk to you soon!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

It is my intention to create a trusting relationship that will allow you to feel comfortable with sharing your story. As we begin our therapeutic alliance, we will establish goals as well as an individualized plan to begin our journey together, towards an emotionally and mentally healthier you. We will process thoughts and feelings about current stressors, work to increase coping strategies to address them, and challenge any negative thought processes that may interfere with achieving goals. Also, we will address any unresolved issues that may contribute to unhealthy thoughts patterns and behaviors.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Although I am eclectic in the therapeutic approaches I use, the counseling I provide is individualized to uniquely fit each person. I have training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Somatic Experiencing, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), along with coping skills and other evidence-based techniques. I would like to work with you to help strengthen your self-awareness which I hope will empower you to become a healthier you. Let's get started!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked with youth and families in multiple settings for almost 20 years, I've been an officer of the court as a juvenile officer, an aftercare caseworker assisting juveniles and families. I've worked as a therapist for children and adolescents in school-based settings, and all ages in under-served areas in outpatient clinics. I've also worked as a therapist for all populations in an inpatient psychiatric hospital. I have multicultural awareness and unconditional positive regard for my clients.
